After seeing a colleague die, dentist Richard Baker thought that it would be good for his career to do a little dental surgery himself.
So, he set up a practice in a local hospital and began to practise.
The new dental assistant he hired was not the most skilled dentist in the world but she knew everything.
He was the perfect guy for the job.
That is when Baker realised he could save people’s lives.
His practice has changed the course of dental education in Northern Virginia.
His team has performed over 10,000 procedures and his patients have saved countless lives.
“They can now expect to be able to get their teeth done in a safe environment that is safe, that is accessible, that allows them to breathe, and also they can be cared for by the person who has done the operation.
The dentist also said he has helped save many lives by taking the time to assess their teeth and give them a good first visit.”
The dentists I have worked with for a long time have told me that if I am doing the work, I am giving people an opportunity to live their lives and be their best selves,” he said.
Dentists are also working to protect the environment by using more sustainable practices.
The practice is not the only one of its kind, but it is one of the first to take advantage of the technology available today to offer affordable, safe dental care.
Baker said it is difficult to get people to understand how much dental work they do for free.”
But that is what dentists are doing,” he explained.”
They are not making a fortune off of what they do.
They are making a lot of money from their work, but they are also helping people.
“A new approach to dentistryOne of Baker’s biggest achievements is to change the dental profession’s approach to the profession, which he described as being in the dark.”
It is not a very nice profession to be in,” he says.”
And it is not something that I would like to do, so I am looking for other ways to do my work.
“Baker is currently the president of the National Association of Dental Technicians (NADET), which represents over 50 dentists from across the US and Canada.
The association represents dentists across the country and Baker has seen a shift in the way dentists work in the last few years.”
I think dentists have come to realise that they are not doing as much as they used to, which is why they have started to move to other practices,” he explains.”
There is a whole new mindset among dentists about what they can do and what they are comfortable doing.”NADETS president, Dr Richard Baker, said dentists needed to focus on the patients rather than the profession.”
Dentistry is a profession that we have to work for our patients, not for the profession,” he added.”
We need to take care of our patients’ needs and we need to give them the care they need.
We can’t do that if we are just doing this for the money.
“Dentist in a city that has already seen some changesThe practice Baker works at is not unique in Northern VA, which has already begun to see some changes in the dental industry.
According to the University of Virginia’s Health System Planning and Assessment, in 2017, more than 50,000 people lost their teeth due to a combination of age and health problems.
In 2018, Virginia was one of 16 states that saw dental records and the state saw more than 400,000 patients in the emergency department due to dental conditions.”
These changes have been very, very significant,” Dr Baker says.
In the last two years, the number of dental procedures performed has decreased by over 30 percent, but there has also been an increase in the number people who have had dental work done.
According, the practice Baker runs in Charlottesville has also helped improve the quality of life of some of its residents.”
For many people, it has been very difficult to adjust to the new, more modern dentistry practices and to have a more complete picture of the patient,” Baker explains.
But for Baker, it’s not about the money.
He is also very proud of the work he has done for patients.”
This is my job, and I have been lucky to have had a great time doing this, and have a wonderful family that has supported me throughout,” he adds.”
If I had not been doing this I would have probably had to move on.
It is very rewarding, but at the end of the day, I have also learned so much from my patients.
